HEAVEN: HOME OF THE HOLY

I remember years ago during one summer ministry trip to the West Coast I went to a park on a day off to lay out in the sun. I put a blanket down and was laying flat on my back with my eyes closed just minding my own business. Suddenly I sensed the presence of evil in that place. As I sat up and looked around I realized that I was in a homosexual park. My spiritual nature did not jell with the spirits that were in that park. Do you think homosexual spirits would be at home in heaven? What about adulterers and fornicators? Liars and thieves? Murderers and child molesters? Even the cowardly and the unbelieving will not be there, but will instead have their part somewhere else.

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Rev. 21:8).

If you had just arrived on the earth after living in heaven for a long time the atmosphere and conditions of the earth would repulse you. Sin has cursed the earth. Man’s sinful nature has polluted the entire planet.

Why do think there are strife-filled marriages and broken homes? Why do you think there are unwanted pregnancies and abortions? Battered wives and abused/neglected children? Drug addicts and alcoholics? Murders and suicides? Thefts and rapes? Adulteries and fornication?Homosexuals and lesbians? False religions and cults? Fightings and wars? Jails and prisons? It’s because of sin!

There is no sin in heaven. There is no one with a sinful nature in heaven. There are no places of sin up there in the glory world. There are no police, no funeral parlors, no hospitals, no prisons, no houses of prostitution, no bars or night clubs, no dirty dancing halls, or porn shops. There is no Satan, no curse, no darkness, no death, and no sickness and disease, or pain. Why? Because there is no sin.

Heaven is a holy place. What makes it so holy is the absence of sin. Heaven is marked by perfect love, perfect peace and tranquility, fulness of joy unspeakable, endless worship, perfect harmony, and unfathomable beauty. Only those whose sinful nature has been transformed and who now possess the nature of God can pass through those pearly gates. You must be born again (John 3:7)! To be born again means to be changed from one nature to another. It means to receive power to becomes the very sons of God (John 1:12), and pass from one realm into another. It means to recover the nature of Adam before he sinned.

Nothing unclean or defiled can enter into heaven. Without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14).

“But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” (Rev. 21:27).

In this life is where your eternal destiny is determined. This agrees perfectly with the Scriptures.

Holiness is what makes heaven so wonderful and only the holy will enter therein. This glorious atmosphere is what man was created for. Only the precious Blood of Christ can cleanse you to cause you to pass through.

I hope I will see you there. What a day that will be.

Do you want to survive or thrive in this decade? You must take an uncompromised stand for truth and righteousness. Please get my new book, The Tumultuous 2020s and Beyond, to discover all that’s at stake in the coming years. We must be bold, fearless, and strong in the Lord.

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION: NONE HOLY CAN ENTER

A couple of years ago I preached a message on The Law Of Attraction using Rev. 22:11 as an opening text, explaining that the condition of departed spirits who’ve left this earth is irreversible.

“He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”

After death you will be drawn to the ruling passions you were drawn to in this life. This means that if you were drawn to places where sin reigns such as night clubs, bars, porn sites, to where evil is glorified, to where profanity, obscenities, and curses are spoken, then you will leave this earth and be pulled toward the place of those ruling desires. In this case, hell.

If you are a slave to sin and cannot stop its bondage in your life…if you do not enjoy worshiping and sharing Jesus…if you resist spiritual instruction and holy preaching you are in danger of eternal perdition. If you do not have mental freedom and peace deep down inside your spiritual nature is not in accord with God.

Heaven is for the pure and holy. Heaven is for those whose natures have changed, who’ve truly repented and been born again, and who love Jesus with all their hearts and are living wholly for Him. Holiness and sin can never touch each other. There can be no mixture. Good and evil cannot harmonize. The sinful nature of man can never harmonize with the intense purity and holiness of heaven. A sinner would be in complete discord and agony in heaven.

You’re either born again with a new nature that loves and practices righteousness or you’re still in your sins and practicing unrighteousness. Heaven and hell are determined by you and your nature, not God. He has sent Jesus Christ whose precious blood was shed that you might repent and believe the gospel and be born again (Jn. 3:7) and given power to become sons of God (Jn. 1:12).

What I’m saying is this: The great purpose of divine revelation is to warn men that their manner of living in this world has a permanent effect on their eternal destiny. Humanity’s time on the earth is very brief compared to eternity and serves to only be a dressing room to prepare your soul for eternity and secure fitness for the next life. This is what should have every man’s reverent attention in this life.

Do not let the devil lie to you and tell you that you will be unhappy if you repent and live a holy lifestyle and that somehow you’ll be missing out on the fun. Don’t believe the big lie of Satan that there can be no real enjoyment in life if you stop sinning. The truth is that the person who has truly repented has no desire to sin. The grace of God is given to a person who repents and changes that person’s desires and empowers him to live for Christ.

The fake love gospel void of repentance has deceived many. The hyper-grace gospel void of repentance has deceived many. The diabolical silence on holiness and such themes as the cross, the blood, and hell have bred defective believers who profess Christ but in works and obedience deny Him.

Many in and outside the church need to repent and believe the gospel. If we just do that it will change the Church and the nation.

EARTHLY CASUALNESS LEADS TO ETERNAL CASUALTIES: THE KOBE BRYANT STORY AND WHAT WE ALL NEED TO LEARN

I am greatly saddened by the tragic death of Kobe Bryant and his young daughter, but I am just as saddened and grieved by the irresponsible and nonchalant response from the world and even from the church to such misfortune. Untimely deaths of young celebrities like Kobe Bryant are supposed to cause a deep pause and sincere reflection of our sinful lifestyles and earnestly consider the eternal consequences of going off into eternity without Christ.

Instead people are talking incessantly about what a great basketball legend he was and his immortality on the court. I understand recognizing Kobe’s talent and honoring what he contributed to the game of basketball, but it’s extremely callous not to consider our lives in the light of eternity and speak of that, too.

One tweet said this: “Heroes come and go, but legends are forever. Rest in peace.”

Really? Listen, basketball is just a game. Heroes and legends and every other famous person that’s ever lived come and go. Kings and mighty rulers of the earth come and go. The rich and the poor alike come and go. Life is very brief on this planet. Let’s not forget that there were 7 other people that lost their lives in that helicopter crash, not just Kobe and his young daughter. He is getting all the attention and honor because of his celebrity status, but in eternity there is no such regard for greatness in this life as men count greatness.

What do earthly honors matter in the end? What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

Yes, I know Kobe’s influence stretched far beyond sports, touching art, culture, business, and his family. But what does that all matter in the end if he knew not Christ?

In light of Kobe Bryant’s untimely death and all those who went down with him, it’s time to consider again the brevity of this earthly life and the eternal consequences of living a life without Christ.

“Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14).

C.T. Studd said it this way:

“Only one life ’twill soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.”

Leonard Ravenhill also had the right perspective:

“Are the things you are living for worth Christ dying for?”

NO EARTHLY DISTINCTIONS IN THE ETERNAL REALM

God and Satan are not partial to anyone. There are no distinctions in the eternal realm. Kobe is not a superstar in eternity. They are not celebrating his life and greatness in the game of basketball. The only thing heaven celebrates is the life you lived for Christ. The honor you gave to Christ. The steps and pursuits you made for Christ. The people you led to Christ. Heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents.

“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:10).

I honestly hope Kobe came to repentance before this fatal crash. I hope he was a real Christian and God found some honor in his heart for Christ; or perhaps he called on the Name of the Lord moments before that helicopter exploded in fire. If not, he is experiencing another kind of fire that is eternal where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched’ (Mark 9:44).

The God of all flesh has no regard for world celebrities, famous leaders, or mighty kings on this earth. Note the word of the Lord to the king of Babylon:

“In the place of the dead there is excitement over your arrival. The spirits of world leaders and mighty kings long dead stand up to see you” (Isaiah 14:9).

The surest thing in the world is not death and taxes, it’s death and eternity. Yet, we remain so unconcerned. We are not eternity conscious enough.

Not only are there no earthly distinctions made in heaven concerning our status, position, or achievements in this life, but even in the church world God makes no distinctions. There are no church or denominational distinctions in heaven. There is not one section in heaven for Presbyterian Christians, another section for Anglican Christians, and yet another for Baptist Christians. Unless a person has sincerely repented of his sins and placed his total trust in Christ for his salvation, proving it by his works, all of life was lived in vain.

JOHN WESLEY’S DREAM THAT REVOLUTIONIZED HIS LIFE

John Wesley had a dream which affected his life’s work tremendously. He dreamed that he died and came to the gate of heaven. He was anxious to know who had been admitted, so he questioned the keeper:
“Are there any Presbyterians here?”
“None”, replied the keeper of the gate.
Wesley was surprised. “Have you any Anglicans?” he asked.
“No one!” was the reply
“Surely, there must be many Baptists in heaven?”
“No, none”, replied the keeper.
Wesley grew pale. He was afraid to ask his next question:
“How many Methodists are there in heaven?”
“Not one,” answered the keeper quickly.
Wesley’s heart was filled with wonder. The angel at the gate then told Wesley that there were no earthly distinctions in heaven. “All of us here in heaven are one in Christ. We are just an assembly who love the Lord”.
Wesley was then taken downward, downward to the entrance of Hell. He met the keeper of the gate there.
“Have you any Presbyterians here?” asked Wesley.
“Oh, yes, many,” answered the keeper.
Wesley stood still, “Have you any Anglicans?” he asked.
“Yes, yes, many”, answered the keeper.
“Are there Baptists in there”? Wesley continued to ask.
“Of course, many,” replied the keeper.
”Wesley was afraid to ask the next question. “Are there any Methodists in hell?”
The keeper of the gate grinned. “Oh Yes, there are many Methodists here.”
Wesley could hardly speak. “Tell me, have you any here who love the Lord?”
“No, no, not one, not one” he answered. “No one in hell loves the Lord”
CONCLUSION OF ALL MATTERS IS TO LOVE AND FEAR GOD
Do you love the love the Lord? If so, you will have the highest regard and reverence for His holy Word and you will obey what is written therein.
But our obedience to God is not only a manifestation of our love for Him but also our fear of Him. And frankly, that is what is missing in American culture right now and even within church walls.

“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matt. 10:28).

It’s time for America, the church world, and all the nations of the earth to fear God, so they can be spared eternal damnation and live a life worthy of the reward of Christ’s sacrifice. It’s time for all of of us to realize that there are only two distinctions in the eternal world, the saved and the damned. Those who have received the life of Christ and those who have not.

“He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:12).

I pray for all those close to Kobe, and most especially for his grieving family during this devastating time in their lives. May they find Christ and receive the hope, strength, and comfort they so desperately need.
