I’m going to do something I’ve never done before. I’m writing a special public tribute to my son on his birthday, whether he likes it or not (smile). To those who are not friends of the family, please bear with me and let me indulge a little in showering some praise, attention, and love for our son on his birthday. Here’s a little history for those who care to read.

Daniel was a miracle baby and brought a healing to our hearts after a very grievous miscarriage. He is our only son. The first picture is him at approximately four months old resting on my knees as I held him and spoke into his spirit concerning his calling. It lasted nearly 15-20 minutes. He was riveted to the spirit of my words even though obviously in his infancy he did not comprehend them with his undeveloped intellect. It was a wow moment for me.

Enjoy the rest of the pictures.

He always had such a good disposition as a baby and as a boy. He was also a great traveler. He never complained. He loved music and always had a beat going. In fact, when Carolyn was pregnant the most activity she felt in her womb was during praise and worship time at our bible school in Gambia, West Africa (see picture above with our African garb in our Bible school). To this day he plays several instruments and sings (he’s singing into a microphone in the second pic).

Daniel inherited his Momma’s joy and his Daddy’s passion. I did two things that I have no regrets for: I taught him the Word of God and did my best to live it before him. And I coached him in the major sports, especially baseball. This gave us a lot of precious time together just having fun. That’s him here pulling the trigger on a swing, and getting ready to field a ground ball, and then posing with a casting female member after a high school play. I’ll get to his acting in a moment.

Then at the direction of the Lord we sent him to public high school several years ago. Some people thought we were crazy, but he became a missionary in his school. The Lord told us that public high school was his training ground for the unconventional  ministry he was called to. He shares a wild testimony in the book we authored together (My Son, My Son) of his introduction to public school when he stood toe to toe with a bully who challenged his faith while Daniel gave Jesus glory. Needless to say, it was one of my most proud Papa moments.

Young parents should get that book, or grandparents should get it, to help their children raise their grandchildren in the Lord. Filled with nuggets of wisdom on training godly children, it is unique and intimate and will have you weepy one moment and laughing the next. I wish I could get it into the hands of more young parents, because it is preventive more than it is cure.

Daniel graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Broadcast Journalism in 2017, and learned several important life lessons. Sometimes pain is a young man’s greatest teacher.

Besides his relationship with the Lord, there has been one constant love in Daniel’s life that he did not inherit from me. He loves acting. I guess he had to take up acting as an only child to entertain himself. Haha! One day when he was only about 9 years of age, he was at the dinner table crying and saying something about the city of Chicago. I thought he was choking on some food, and in a bit of a panic I asked him what was wrong. He straightened up and said he was only acting. Ha! What an act! I’d give him an Oscar for that one. It was very convincing. There were real tears.

As he grew, besides being engaged in sports, he was always involved in plays and dramas since middle school. That’s what he loved the most and where he excelled the most. Even in college he acted in theatre. Here he is with us at his college graduation, the next pic is him acting in a college theatre production, and the third pic is him at home for the holidays.

He now lives in the Atlanta area and is pursuing acting in television and film. He’s managed to land a couple of minor roles on television shows, and done a few short films, but has his sights set higher. As his parents, Carolyn and I are watching his acting career unfold with holy fear and trepidation, knowing what a dark and competitive industry it is, and trusting the Lord to keep our son holy and separated in the midst of it all. We covet the prayers of our friends for him. He is always hustling and shuffling two or three jobs at a time and still finding time to do auditions and respond to callbacks.

Although Daniel has been exposed to the ministry all his life, Carolyn and I have never put any expectations on him for entering the ministry. God has to call a person, not man or his parents. All we desire is for him to serve the Lord fervently all the days of his life in whatever field he feels led to go into. He hasn’t ruled out entering into public preaching ministry some day, but it doesn’t burn in him right now, even though he’s in the Word and has a devotional life. Recently I admonished him in a short dialogue. Here’s the exchange:

ME: Please don’t ever become like Brad Pitt and certain other actors who left their true Christian and Pentecostal heritage and continue to mock president Trump and truth and righteousness. Be bold and fearless as your daddy has taught you. ☺ You can be that way and still be loving and broken over the sinful state of our needy land.

DANIEL: I already am that way! I hate the blindness of Hollywood. They all just follow the crowd there and blend in. I’m sick of political speeches from the elite, they haven’t learned to think for themselves. It’s all mindless propaganda. And that ain’t me. Jesus is my Rock and the Bible is my guiding principle, because it’s truth to me.

I was happy to hear that from him, because honestly, it takes a fearless boldness and Holy Ghost fire to stay spiritually strong in the secularized liberal entertainment industry. But Jesus did not tell us to retreat and hide from the world, but to shine our light in the midst of it. Again, please pray for him as God quickens you or leads you, especially Colossians 1:9-11, which is one of my favorite Scriptural prayers to pray for any believer. Here is a final recent picture of him as he looks now:

Daniel, you are now a young man, but Momma still calls you her baby (LOL). We love you and are extremely proud of your  stance for the Lord, and how you are now forging your own path and following what you believe is God’s plan for your life, and endeavoring to shine Christ’s light in a very dark industry.

Keep the fire burning!

Happy birthday sweet son!!!

This is a journal entry from April 2002 when my life and ministry was transformed during an extended time of prayer and fasting. It is a word from God that is fitting for many in this hour when the “idol” of professional ministry shall bow to Jesus and His life (The Journal Of A Journey To His Holiness).

Think back to your former days when in your innocence and simplicity you possessed a certain awareness of the reality of My presence. Surprisingly, as your knowledge of My Word increased, you forfeited a portion of that awareness. “Ministry” spoiled the innocence and simplicity of our fellowship. Your mind became somewhat corrupted by “ministry.” Religion entered back into your life in a different form and worked a measure of death birthed by the works of man.

If you will be honest with yourself and remember those former days, you will have to admit that you had an awareness of My presence not only in your solitude with Me, but on the job as well. You had a sensitivity to the sinner and were always aware of Me when in their presence. But then after being trained for ministry, and being always around believers, performance and activity became the king of all your service. A measure of My love was diminished and a measure of My awareness was lost. Religion again worked its course in you to separate you from Myself.

Put away all residue of religion and move on into the glorious life and liberty of the Son. Move on into the communion of the Holy Spirit in all phases of your life.

Walk in the light of God and experience the life and liberty of the Son.

I would have you know that My Son was the most un-religious person that ever walked the face of the earth. He was the last Adam. What the first Adam possessed before the fall, the last Adam possessed without ever falling. In the first Adam, before the fall, there was no religion. There were no temples made with human hands. There were no religious groups and denominations. There was not to be in the original purpose of the Godhead a division among men concerning religious persuasion or doctrine. These things are now all a product of sin and of the curse that came upon the earth.

There was no division between the spiritual and the natural. My kingdom was a part of all of Adam’s life. There was no division between his ministry to Me and his personal life. It was all one.

As I have already spoken to you, one of the greatest idols in these last days that will bow its knee to My presence is the idol of “ministry”. “Ministry” has a subtle way of spoiling the simplicity of a walk with Me. The idol of ministry is birthed by the spirit of religion. It is man using My Word to do their own will in ministry. That is the reason for so much of the division that exists in My body today.

In My Holy Spirit of Truth there is no division. If all men would learn to humble themselves and bow their wills to My life and My mind, the Spirit of Truth would teach them. My true life and liberty has been sacrificed on the altar of the stubborn will of man. The Spirit of Truth has been quenched by the muddy waters of religion that works through the will of man.

I would have you know, son, that it was the filthy hands of religion that crucified the innocent clean hands of My life on that cross. It is still the filthy hands of religion today that crucify My life on the altar of the human will of man. It was the filthy hands of the religious spirit that opposed and then crucified the glorious life and liberty of the Son. Lucifer so opposes this life and liberty that is found in My Son because it defies religion and the selfish will of man.

Study Isaiah chapter 14. See how Lucifer fell. Hear what he said. Was it not his will that opposed Me and My reign? Lucifer’s will desired exaltation. A desire for an honored reputation led to his fall. He has great hatred for all mankind, but especially toward those who only desire to do the will of the Father, and not their own.

That is why the Son uttered phrases like, “I came not to do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” “…My judgment is just because I seek not My own will, but the will of the Father which has sent Me.” “And My delight is to do Your will, oh God.” Statements like this were like a slap to Lucifer’s face.

In the depths of that delight to do the Father’s will lies the secret of deliverance from the spirit of religion. It is all found in the will. The key is to surrender your will on the altar of His life.

In the hearing and obeying of My counsel lies the secret to possessing that life. That life is a life of liberty that is free of religion. Religion is based on activity and performance outside of hearing and obeying. Liberty comes when you hear and obey what I say. Doing your own will engenders bondage.

The only kind of religion that is pure is the kind written in James 1:27 which is to take care of widows and orphans and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

This is a living word which produces a living faith.

Preachers and all Christians who actually apply their faith to politics are the great final barrier to the corrupt socialist/communist agenda that has infiltrated our American society. This is why they are now being targeted.

There are humanistic ideologies and demonically designed strategies that have infiltrated our educational institutions and the political realm, and yes, even the Church, that are moving us toward universal egalitarianism and a cultural Marxism.

Could this be the manifestation of the spirit that Kenneth E. Hagin saw in an incredible 1963 vision?

Atheistic Hatred Inspired Communism

I believe the greatest enemy in decadent times like these may be the sleepy, lukewarm, and deceived Church. A subversive effort by the leftist-leaning liberals to infiltrate the Church and turn people away from the real gospel and true doctrine is gaining momentum in this hour. The purpose of this agenda is to sway the church toward a radical political movement and the spread of socialism and atheistic, hatred-inspired, communism in our nation. (Enemies Within The Church) (The Corruption Of American Christianity) (The Corruption Of American Christianity — Part 2)

Many professing Christians would mock and scoff at such a notion. They easily yield to that old devilish compromise and serpentine excuse that comes creeping in, that says: “don’t preach on politics”; “don’t mix politics with religion”; and “God is not interested in politics.”

I will preach on politics. I will include sins of the culture and the wickedness and corruption of politics in my preaching — and all the more so because politics has a trickle-down effect that touches each one of our lives. It is my responsibility and duty before God and before the people to do so. The whole counsel of God includes exposing people’s sins and the sins of a nation.

“Herald and preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging and encouraging them, being unflagging and inexhaustible in patience and teaching” (2 Tim. 4:2 — AMPC).

Part of every preacher’s calling is to press the influence of kingdom culture on the existing culture, as John the Baptist did (Lk. 3:10-14, 19-20).

If you want to be Biblical, faithful, and true, preach and press the values of the kingdom of heaven upon the existing culture, which includes politics.

Politics can be righteous or wicked. It can be good or evil. It can be moral and upright or immoral and corrupt.

Politics can administer life or death.

Politics can administer God’s will for America or an anti-Christ agenda of atheism, socialism, communism, and globalism.

Politics can administer capitalism and kingdom economic principles or atheistic communism and humanistic socialism.

Politics can administer new covenant kingdom marriage or unnatural, perverse same-sex marriage and gender-confusion lunacy.

Politics can administer God-given inalienable rights and providence or government dominion and satanic agendas to rob Christ and the people of their inheritance.

Politics can administer Christian ideals or Islamic corrupt ethics.

Politics can administer equality or racism.

Politics can administer wisdom or foolishness.

Politics can administer morality or whoredom.

Now tell me that kingdom preaching does not include politics! You cannot get more kingdom than to oppose liberal-leftist politics and their evil agenda.

We better pay attention to the words of Charles G. Finney, the great American revivalist, who knew something about pressing the influence of kingdom culture on the existing culture, which included politics and the way people vote.

“The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics or the Lord will curse them. Christians seem to act as if they thought God did not see what they do in politics. But I tell you He does see it, and He will bless or curse this nation according to the course the Christians take in politics.” — Charles G. Finney

We better also heed Stanley Frodsham’s prophetic words, for we are nearer to their fulfillment than when he first spoke them in 1965.

“With great judgments will I plead with the population of this country. Great darkness is coming upon the countries that have heard My gospel but no longer walk in it. My wrath shall come upon them.”

And then he prophesied this:

“Before I visit the nations in judgment; I will begin at My house. When I do cause My wrath to come upon the cities of the world, My people shall be separate. I desire a people without spot or wrinkle, and such will be preserved by Me in the time of My wrath, which will be coming upon all iniquity and unrighteousness.” (Cleansing The Temple)

It is high time for the Church to awaken and arise. The enemy has entered in through our back door and is stealing our liberties and our land.

I trust more of us are now coming to the realization that although authentic Christianity can survive without America, America cannot survive without authentic Christianity.

It’s time to take the fight to the enemies within.

This quote seems quite appropriate for the quagmire of wickedness and corruption we find ourselves in as we soon welcome in the tumultuous decade of the 2020s.

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” — Abraham Lincoln

A short powerful excerpt from my new book. Release date is 1/1/20. Pre-orders coming soon.

A conspiracy essay was written in 2015 concerning a possible Donald Trump presidency. I wondered why no one took credit for the article. To this day no one really knows who wrote it. Here is what the article said:

“They will kill him before they let him be president. It could be a Republican or a Democrat that instigates the shutting up of Trump. Don’t be surprised if Trump has an accident. Some people are getting very nervous: Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton and Jon Corzine, to name just a few.

“It’s about the unholy dynamics between big government, big business, and big media. They all benefit by the billions of dollars from this partnership, and it’s in all of their interests to protect one another. It’s one for all and all for one.

“It’s a heck of a filthy relationship that makes everyone filthy rich, everyone except the American people. We get ripped off. We’re the patsies. But for once, the powerful socialist cabal and the corrupt crony capitalists are scared. The over-the-top reaction to Trump by politicians of both parties, the media, and the biggest corporations of America has been so swift and insanely angry that it suggests they are all threatened and frightened like never before.

“Donald Trump can self-fund. No matter how much they say to the contrary, the media, business, and political elite understand that Trump is no joke. He could actually win and upset their nice cozy apple cart.

“It’s no coincidence that everyone has gotten together to destroy The Donald. It’s because most of the other politicians are part of the good old boys club. They talk big, but they won’t change a thing. They are all beholden to big-money donors. They are all owned by lobbyists, unions, lawyers, gigantic environmental organizations, and multinational corporations … like Big Pharma or Big Oil.”

How mysteriously accurate this article was when the odds of a Donald Trump presidency were still very remote! Thank God he has not been assassinated. He needs our prayers now more than ever. At this writing he is 73 years old and the pressure of a second term will be immense and could take a toll on his aging body and mind. Besides, he may not even win unless prayer is made.

Can you see the miracle his election was? And while Trump is not the savior of our country in the spiritual sense, he is the beginning of a miracle for the church. I see him as a sort of gatekeeper keeping America from a stay of execution. As I heard one national voice say, he is an act of God to buy the church time to repent and return to her rightful role in American life. No, Trump is not a pastor or a moral reformer, but he is clearly an instrument of restraint to a full blown national political, moral, and spiritual disaster.  If the Church doesn’t seize the time and opportunity God has opened, disaster will strike on America like a serpent’s head.

I’d like to share a prophetic dream I had recently.

Many people were in a banqueting hall waiting for the guest of honor to arrive. He seemed to have delayed his coming. Then suddenly through a frosty designed long walled window I saw the shadow of a man with long flowing hair walking briskly.

It was Jesus.

Although I couldn’t make out His features due to the frosty window, I could see that He was walking with a fast pace in long strides as if He was on an urgent mission. As He walked into the banqueting hall He approached me and spoke as a military officer in command:

“Farias! Did you get the bread?”

Oh no! The task of keeping fresh bread on hand had slipped my mind. In a frantic dash I rushed to the supply room in the back and found some old bread from the Salvation Army food bank. Due to its staleness I started warming it up in the microwave to make it soft and fresh, all to no avail. I had neglected to purchase fresh bread before Jesus came.

The oil in the lamps of the virgins (Matt. 25:1-13) represents both the Holy Spirit (oil) and the Word (lamp). The dynamic of the Holy Spirit illuminating the word of God to us is what make the word of God fresh. Many in the body of Christ have their lamps but little to no oil. They have the word but they’re not filled with the Spirit. They may have some oil in their lamps but no added vessel with any extra oil. This is what will determine the coming separation in the Church now and at the rapture.

My wife and I have traveled extensively to churches in the last 8 years. We are seeing an unholy trend. There are more and more Pentecostal/Charismatic Christians who have a Bible but no oil. Some are not baptized in the Holy Spirit though they’ve been in a P/C church for several years. They do not have a prayer language or they don’t utilize it.

Here’s what the Lord said after the dream:

“I’m bringing back voices that are speaking what I’m saying. My people must learn to hear and discern properly for there are deceiving spirits moving even among those previously thought to be strong. It is only the revelation and the feeding and nourishment that comes from partaking of the fresh bread of My Word that keeps them in Christ and in the Light.

“There are many warnings I’ve given My people. Remember that in these days I said many would be offended and deceived and the love of many would wax cold. Many in My church are being fed stale food. The children of Israel needed fresh manna every day to look for Me, and eat of Me, and be filled with Me. Learn to come to Me every day to hear what I have to say. The Son of man was always ready to give people fresh bread because He stayed in the Father’s presence. You must do the same.”

Many celebrity ministers and well known names no longer serve fresh bread. They’re too busy or idle in prayer, and so they do not have spiritual nourishment to feed the people and are no longer following God’s perfect plan for their lives. My wife observed a minister with a household name speaking at a conference and noticed a great difference in their words. They were stale and lifeless even though there was much truth in them.

It’s not about a name or a celebrity but it’s about a vessel through whom the word of the Lord flows through. Truth is not enough. Knowledge is not enough. The kingdom of God is not in words but in power. Such is the state of many pastors and ministers in this hour. Such is the state of many believers. Remember that a big part of the warnings in the last days is that there will be many false apostles, false prophets, and false teachers. Deception is the greatest danger. Warnings could be the greatest ministry. Selah.

On Wednesday, Presidential Democratic front runner Joe Biden blamed President Trump for the recent mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso, accusing the President of embracing white nationalist extremism, thus inspiring deadly hate crimes. And get this, he accused Trump of unleashing “the deepest, darkest forces in our nation.”

Here’s his direct quote:

“We have a problem with this rising tide of white supremacy in America and we have a President who encourages it and emboldens it. Indeed, we have a President with a toxic tongue who has publicly and unapologetically embraced the political strategy of hate, racism, and division.”

Other mealy-mouth members of this poo poo party like Beto O’Rourke said that President Trump was a “racist” and had “a lot to do with what happened in El Paso yesterday.” Sen. Cory Booker joined in and was even more candid, saying, “Donald Trump is responsible for this.”

The extreme Left is not only killing their own party and embarrassing our nation, but along with the mob, the ferocious five, led by incoming socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are now burying their party. Biden has now joined them and sealed the party’s identity. Sensible Americans are seeing right through this.

This has got to be a joke, right? Or is it a nightmare?

Listen to the blame game these mocking monsters have unleashed in our nation during such a grieving and mourning time for the citizens of Dayton and El Paso, especially the families of those affected.

“It’s Trump’s fault.”

“He’s a white supremacist and a racist!”

“This is what toxic masculinity and a toxic worldview has done!”

Do you see how silly and utterly childish this sounds?

In a time when the nation needs strong leadership we have voices dolling out hate speech and playing the blame game for clicks and ratings.

Instead, the party of perpetual rage has solved the mystery behind America’s violence and murderous acts. “It’s all Trump’s fault.”

The truth is that Satan is unleashing this dark and deadly assault on our nation and using Presidential Democratic hopefuls to further divide our nation at such a critical time.

Of course, it’s intentional. It’s their strategy. It’s what they want. It’s pure madness and defies logic. But it is rooted in darkness executing spiritual warfare to destroy the nation.

They hate the America that many of us love. But the useful idiots keep listening to them and following them and parroting everything they say. (I’m not being mean or offensive but in political jargon, a useful idiot is a derogatory term for a person perceived as propagandizing for a cause without fully comprehending the cause’s goals, and who is cynically used by the cause’s leaders.)

If this foolishness continues, the Democratic party will hang itself and could fade into insignificance and possibly give way to a third party in the near future. Unless the next election is rigged and lawlessness rules, their efforts will backfire and Trump will easily win a second term. And all hell will break loose. Again. Only worse.

Our nation is now the Divided States Of America. The 2020 Presidential election will be the election of a lifetime, and it will be a tumultuous decade.

Stay hidden in the Lord, my friends. Keep your peace. Walk in wisdom. Exalt truth and righteousness. Know that hatred, evil, strife, and lawlessness will never cease until the King’s return.

This world is not our home. His government will reign forever, but until then, let us pray and stand together for true revival and awakening in our land. Conditions are ripe and it’s not too late.

Time out from my recent Tumultuous 2020s articles.

Today is my birthday. I am 61. At this writing my assignment for two weeks is to take care of my precious aging mother while my brother and sister-in-law are taking a well deserved vacation in Portugal. My Momma is now 87 and basically immobile and not able to do the simplest tasks like prepare her own meals and bathe or dress herself. She also has diabetes that requires four daily shots of insulin.

Momma with family and in her happy place sleeping.

Even trips to the bathroom must be often assisted by another as she is not too steady with her walker any more. She is no longer independent, but completely dependent on family to care for her. Her condition sort of reminds me of this scripture.

“When you were young, you were able to do as you liked and go wherever you wanted to; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands and others will direct you and take you where you don’t want to go.” (John 21:18)

Although Jesus was actually prophesying of Peter’s martyrdom and how he would glorify God in his death, the same principle of suffering and death is true as we age or as we apply the cross to our souls and mature in Christ.

Here is a personal word the Spirit of the Lord gave to me in my younger days when I had the impetuous tendencies of a young Peter and was hard:

“Give birth to tenderness. Give birth to weeping. Give birth to the compassion of Jesus. Go into the Holy of Holies. Stand in the place where the Son of man has gone, and feel and be touched with the infirmities of man. Go in there, hard man, and be turned to tenderness. Give place to the things of My Spirit that you’ve been denied. Time and time again you’ve come, but you’ve never gone far enough. Worship Me now and love will transform you.” (Prophetic utterance).

I’ve been touched with the feelings of my Momma’s infirmities. The above photo with family was a few months ago. The one on the couch is from today. In just a few months the decline in her is very noticeable. Her mind is more detached from this world and her body just won’t obey the brain’s commands any more.

The Lord’s mature servants are touched with the agony of the infirmed, and not just their mothers. Because they live near to the heart of Jesus, they identify deeply with the poor, the hurting, the sick and diseased, and the suffering.

Suffering servants give birth to spirit. The more you deny yourself and suffer in the flesh according to the will of God, the more authority you gain in the Spirit. This is the law of Christ (based on love) which is also the law for every minister. Actually, the deeper you go in God, the more painful it can be. As you draw nearer to the heart of God, it’s only fitting that He not only share His joy with you, but His pain and sorrow as well.

The costly oil that sets men free is the kind that’s bought through suffering. Godly suffering for the sake of the gospel and for the sake of broken humanity gives birth to the glory of God.

Please understand me. I believe in claiming God’s great promises of life and health, but the same Bible verses that contain such promises also tell us that our mortal bodies are perishing or decaying day by day (2 Cor. 4:16). The better news is that our spirits are being  renewed daily, and more of Jesus and heaven should fill our hearts as we near our departure and transition.

When you’re young you think you have something to say. You have strong opinions. I know I did. But you know virtually nothing. You don’t have much wisdom. You haven’t lived long enough yet to acquire it. I know, I know. The Bible says not to despise youth and I don’t. I love them and have mentored many of them. However, they have not yet lived long enough to understand many things that can only be understood by experience. They haven’t raised children yet. Most haven’t suffered bitter disappointments yet. They’ve not been overtaken by sorrows, although in today’s world, due to the neglect and immaturity of adults, many of our children and youth suffer indespicable abuses and tragedies that were not meant for them.

Truly youth is wasted on the young. By the time you know a little something and have enough love and wisdom to really help people it’s time to die. Thank God for eternity and for the ages to come where everything will be redeemed and restored.

The more profound the trying of our faith is in trials, the deeper the plow of the cross or the piercing of the Spirit is in our lives.

The saddest footnote is when aged men become bitter in their trials and stubborn and unteachable in their dogmatism. I have a good friend who knows two men who actually believe they don’t have to die – they are both in their 80’s now, and are aging like any 80+ year old, but they believe we are wholly redeemed, dismissing the parts of Scripture that tells us the outward man is perishing day by day. Both are rather headstrong and very lopsided in their marriages. They’ve never been broken.

A true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ should be growing in tenderness, brokenness, and deep love. As you age, the way of the flesh should be getting narrower while the way of the spirit should be enlarged. For example, when you’re a young believer God allows for many sins, errors, and missteps. You don’t have much light yet. But as you grow in the knowledge of the Word and more light is given He requires more of you.

When you first get saved it’s sort of like an 8 lane highway with rubber guard rails on both sides. Then as you grow in the Lord and you reach true spiritual fatherhood life is like walking a knife edge ridge in the mountains with a straight 1000 foot drop on  either side.

As I enter the final quarter of the race of my mortality, and approaching four decades as a follower of Jesus I feel in a way I know less and less though I know more. I don’t pray long prayers any more, but spend more time in gratitude, adoration, and awe of God’s overwhelming goodness and mercy to me.

When I sit and reflect on the scriptures now for which I have devoted a larger part of my life to in both formal study and devotion I am often deeply moved and marvel at what God has spoken. When I sing and worship my heart skips and cries and laughs more easily. It’s like I’m watching a movie that portrays the pains and sorrows of some character or family that turns to great triumph in the end. The movie Lion was like that for me when the little boy that was lost in Calcutta, India finds his mother and family many years later. I remember weeping aloud in the movie theater at such a glorious ending.

When I see the innumerable pains, disappointments, injustices, woes, needs, heartaches, losses, chronic adversities, dire circumstances, unanswered prayers, and disparities in the lives of humanity and those I love, I feel great sorrow and weep sometimes. In those moments I become more acquainted with the Man who was very acquainted with griefs and sorrows. If we take on His yoke we will know Him in this manner also. Lovely Jesus.

On the other hand, when I experience innumerable, unexplainable, expansive, and explosive manifestations of the Lord’s  goodness and mercies I am filled with gratitude and joy for all He’s done and means to me. When I take a holy glance at His multi-faceted beauty and love I’m overwhelmed and undone. Belly laughs come. Joyful tears run.

I am looking forward in the years remaining in my Earth walk to knowing the unsurpassable greatness of His love that cannot be intellectually known, and looking into the deep living wells of His eternal eyes when I finish the race He’s called me to run.

Friends, make it your lifelong aim to know Him better and to love better. This will not happen without identifying with His pains, sorrows, and sufferings through your brokenness.

Dutch Sheets said this in a recent article:

“A demonic tide of destruction has been unleashed upon our nation, and is taking ground at an increasingly rapid rate. Politically, economically and humanistically, there is an agenda to make this nation never again look the way it has looked before. Yet, God has not given up on America! He has great a plan and a purpose for this nation and He is calling on us to partner with His heart and His strategy in this critical hour.”

Sheets went on to compare the days we are living in to the days of Ezra, and how in response to people’s hunger and desperation  God raised up a company of leaders, among them, Haggai and Zecharias, two prophets, along with Joshua the high priest (representing God’s government), Zerubbabel the governor (representing civil government), and how they joined together to lead the people into reformation. All of them worked in agreement to move God’s people toward repentance and the restoration of the temple (see my new book, Cleansing The Temple, to discover the depth of purification and consecration that must happen to restore the glory of the Lord in His people). This is exactly where we are as a Church and a nation going into the 2020s.

The most exciting part of this account in Ezra is that in response to their obedience and righteous partnership, the Lord blessed them by decreeing that the glory of the latter house would be greater than the former (Hag. 2:9). This is my hope for the Church and the nation.

Refer to his article and be encouraged. God Is Not Done With America

Notice how the prophets, the high priest, and the governor worked together to lead the people into reformation (Hag. 1:1). This pattern is seen throughout the Old Testament. In God’s kingdom there is no separation of Church and state. We are to take the kingdom into every facet of society. When bad things happen in our country often the Church is to blame. Lack of watchfulness, prayerfulness, and obedience to God creates a vacuum for Satan to fill. When Obama, an enemy of the State in my opinion, was elected president, the Church was to blame. I know that statement will not win me more friends, but I will keep saying it. Millions of “Christians” voted for the most anti-Biblical president in American history.

We are in the mess we’re in now because too many professing Christians voted foolishly or didn’t vote at all. Hilton Sutton, the prophecy teacher, who is now with the Lord, conducted altar calls of repentance for Christians who voted for Obama. Even now, so many “Christians” have sided in with the corrupt ungodly media and have been brainwashed to hate President Trump, who has helped the Church’s cause perhaps more than any president in American history. Either discern and vote for righteousness or quit calling yourself a Christian.

You just watch. All hell will break loose in the next election. Refer to the conspiracy essay against Trump before his presidency that I wrote two blogs ago. Expect much more of that.

I must say this again. We are in a very serious time of judgment and cleansing right now. There are two cleansings in the ministry of Jesus. He cleansed the temple at the beginning (Jn. 2) and at the end of His public ministry (Mt. 21, Mk. 11, Lk. 19). In the end, this cleansing prepared the way for a new order that His resurrection and ascension would bring.

The Church is coming into a new order and will look vastly different than it has in recent times. Church leaders and ministers must be open to this change that is coming with both new wine and a new wineskin that will foreseeably evolve in times of persecution. There must be a cleansing so that the Lord’s glory can be restored in His people before the worst shall come. America is on the edge of judgment, and we must judge ourselves so that when judgment falls on the world, the Church will be separate, and her impact will be greater. I don’t know about you, but as a minister, I’m making heart-felt adjustments and changes in my own life.

We need to heed Stanley Frodsham’s prophetic words for we are nearer to their fulfillment than when he spoke them in 1965.

“With great judgments will I plead with the population of this country. Great darkness is coming upon the countries that have heard My gospel but no longer walk in it. My wrath shall come upon them.”

And then he prophesied this:

Before I visit the nations in judgment; I will begin at My house. When I do cause My wrath to come upon the cities of the world, My people shall be separate. I desire a people without spot or wrinkle, and such will be preserved by Me in the time of My wrath, which will be coming upon all iniquity and unrighteousness.”

For the last five years on Charisma magazine and on my personal blog I along with a number of other voices have shared much on the dire state of things in our nation and the Church. Some have heeded these messages, but others continue to mock and scoff and resist truth on fire. Sadly, many of them will not survive the coming storm.

The time of playing church and being as little children and looking under the heavenly Christmas tree for the next gift is over, and we’ve entered into a time where we must put away childish things and become serious followers of our Master and understand that the war we are in is about to intensify.

Bittersweet times are ahead. We will choose our own way. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken as we enter into the times of the fear of the Lord. It is time to awaken from our slumber. You can be awakened with a kiss of kindness or shaken with the Lord’s severity. You must choose whom you will serve, for the Lord will distinguish again the righteous from the unrighteous, the holy from the profane, and the serious follower from the fan of Jesus.

Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore, if anyone CLEANSES HIMSELF from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.” (2 Tim. 2:19-21)

He that has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit of God is saying to the Church.

The Sign of Christ’s Coming: A Vision Given to Oral Roberts

We are living in a time when the frequency of last days events are moving quickly to fulfillment. The day is coming when it will suddenly burst forth. Right now the Lord is holding these things back to give His body time to prepare, but many are wasting that time in false confidence, complacency, and compromise.

In the midst of the turmoil, the fear and the anxiety that’s in our nation and in our world, as I was walking and meditating, I heard the voice of God. I’ve heard that voice many times. It’s too familiar to me, and there’s no way that I can fail to understand His voice because I’m familiar with it. And instantly I heard that voice and I heard it and then I saw with my eyes something I’d never seen.

Suddenly, in the clouds in the skies above New York City and the east part of the United States, and which hung there for quite sometime and then spread out across America, without touching the ground, and then God diffused it away from America and sent it out to the nations of the earth. And I saw and I heard. What did I see? I saw something coming down from above: Smoke and vapor and blood, or it looked like that to my eyes, to my spiritual eyes.

There it was hanging so huge until it almost blotted out the sky. Instantly I thought about 9/11, when the terrorists attacked the Twin Towers and through television all of us in America, and probably the world, saw those more than 100-story-high buildings crumple and heard the cry of thousands of people who were being either killed or wounded. I remembered the fear that struck my heart and knew that what I was feeling everybody else was feeling and remembered that never in the history of the world, and certainly not of America, that something of this proportion had struck the human race and was a preview of things similar to it that were going to happen through what we now call terrorists.

First, I saw this thing hovering and great changes coming in it to where I couldn’t miss it. And then I heard, something came into my ears, and it reminded me of what a friend of mine had said when the first space capsule was released into the sky.

He was a newsman in New York City and maybe half a mile or more away from the capsule. And he said when that thing lifted off the earth, there was a sound, and the sound itself moved the weeds and the growth, and he said, “It penetrated my body.” He said, “As I talked to others, they felt the same thing.” He said the sound was so enormous that nothing had ever happened like it in the history of the world. Instantly, I thought of that because the sound that was coming into my ears was penetrating my whole being.

And then I heard God’s voice. He said: “I’m making a sign.”

This is a sign according to the second chapter of Acts, where the apostle Peter, upon the giving of the Holy Spirit, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, said there’ll be signs in the skies.”

He said, “This is one of the signs of the end time because the world is not ready for the second coming of my Son.” He said, “My church is not ready for the second coming of my Son.”

He said, “The Jews, with whom I’ve had the covenant for thousands of years, they’re not ready for the second coming of my Son.” He said, “The nations of the earth are not ready for the second coming of my Son.”

He said, “America has been set aside by a special covenant that I made with many of the people who came to found this nation several hundred years ago, that this was My nation and the gospel was going to go out from it unlike any other nation and there’d be more gospel going out from America.”

And He said, not only would there be a powerful military presence in the United States unlike any other nation, but it would be the center of the gospel that I was sending out.

And He said to me, “You remember that I said in My Bible to my disciples 2,000 years ago, ‘Go into all the world and teach all nations, and when that teaching has reached the nations then shall the end come.'” And then he startled me. He said, “With all of the widespread force of my church in the world, but particularly in the United States, which is the source of most of the gospel that’s being preached in all the world,”

He said, “There is a wasting of My power, there is a failure to grasp the end time. And the church, they are coming to church on Sunday morning mostly for themselves. And the preachers, for the most part, are not really concerned about the nations of the earth.”

“They’re concerned about the little group that is there, and they sing their songs and they get up and preach.” And He said, “When 9/11 struck, there was a fear that came into the hearts, even of My people of the church and of the people outside the church. And millions the following Sunday or two rushed to go to church.”

“But the preachers were not prepared, and most of them didn’t even preach on it and didn’t even talk about it being the sign of something that’s coming hundreds of thousands of times bigger.”

He said, “When those planes of the terrorists struck the Twin Towers in New York City and they gradually came tumbling down, it was something bigger than people had ever seen, but it’s nothing in comparison to what’s going to happen in the second coming of my Son.” And so He said, “My church was not prepared to deal with that, and people came to church and then nothing much happened and they dropped back and many of them went back to their bars.”

“And there I was with my whole creation that’s alive in the earth, not counting all those who have died—millions who have lived and died, all of whom will be resurrected at some time in the future, having to do with the second coming of my Son, some to everlasting life, some to live forever in their new bodies and some to everlasting shame and contempt forever lost.” And He said, “I love people. I created them. I love them by creation. I love them because I sent My only begotten Son.” And instantly I thought of the great show that Mel Gibson made of The Passion.

When millions upon millions went to see it and are seeing it now all over the world. I remember when I sat there with my wife, watching it, and how my soul was stirred and the tears sprang from my eyes and my body trembled as I saw something about the sufferings of Jesus, the Son of God, to save the human race and so that the devil would not destroy God’s creation. He would not destroy men, women and children that God had created and for whom Jesus had died and rose from the dead that we might be born again—we might repent of our sins and have salvation and come into a readiness for the coming of Christ.

And He says, “As you know in the Bible, the second coming is in two parts. One is called the rapture, one is called the revelation.

“And first of all I’m going to rapture, or catch up, My people—the people who are born of my Spirit and filled with My Spirit and serving me. I’m going to catch them up in a moment of time and they’ll meet My Son in the clouds and come on into heaven, into My presence. And then not long after I’m going to bring that bride of Christ back with Jesus when He comes the second time to the earth, and that’ll be the beginning of the judgment of the nations.”

But He said, “The thing that is breaking my heart is that I commanded my people, I commanded My church to preach the gospel in all the world and to teach all nations. And while they are evangelists and pastors and prophets and apostles and all kinds of my workers in various parts of the world and in some of the nations of the earth, it’s just a drop in the bucket to what I commanded My disciples to do.”

“And I love people so much I cannot afford to let people go on like they are. And then He directed my attention to the book of Matthew, the 24th chapter, where He speaks in the 24th chapter and beginning at verse 35:

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. Concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

Now, He reminded me in the 6th chapter of Genesis that the earth was filled with violence and it was so full it couldn’t be any more full and it grieved the heart of God that He had made man and he decided that He would destroy man and begin over, and He established a remnant and it was a family: Noah and his family. And He commanded him to build a huge boat that would take two of every living thing in it so when the flood came—and they’d never had rain before in the earth, it had been watered by a mist.

But He said, when the flood comes and this boat with this family and two of every living thing gets in it and the flood lifts them up from the earth that’s being destroyed, or from the human race that’s being destroyed, the flood that lifts the ark, or the remnant of my people, in Noah’s day, will come down in judgment upon the people of the earth.
And He said …

Now, there’s got to be preaching with fire in the belly!

There’s got to be an anointing of the Holy Ghost. My church has to wake up because what I’m revealing in this sign that “every” eye is going to see, “every” ear is going to hear. They’ll see this thing. They will not necessarily know what it is, but it’s a wake-up call about the Second Coming of my son!

It’s not going to come and touch the earth. It’s going to be seen, it’s going to be heard, and people are going to become aware of the drama of the end time, of the Second Coming of Christ. When He splits the skies and comes back with His bride and takes over the reign of the earth and He destroys the Antichrist, who will arise at that time. He will destroy the followers of Antichrist and He’ll establish His kingdom upon the earth. And He said, “I cannot let anybody live and die without knowledge that my Son is coming back the second time.”

This is another excerpt from my new soon-to-be released book, Cleansing The Temple: Restoring The Glory. I hope you will get a copy and help the work of an unknown writer publish the word of the Lord. Pre-orders at a discounted price will be offered soon.

“However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory…” (1 Cor. 2:6-7).

In this day of great human ingenuity, it takes the wisdom of God and knowing His heart and ways to discern the difference between what is of man and what is truly of God. We are easily fooled by principles and techniques and the modern machinery of man that can be used effectively in man’s own strength and prowess to accomplish great things — all without the Holy Spirit’s involvement. We label so many things as originating in God when, in fact, God has nothing to do with it.

We take pride in our own knowledge and abilities, or we are naive and lack godly discernment. For example, just because something is new, big, and grows fast does not necessarily mean it has its origin in God. It may even be emotionally thrilling, intellectually stimulating, and very financially and numerically successful — all without God’s involvement. Savor this wisdom so that you will cultivate more discernment in your life.

Let’s understand that there are principles, which, when implemented by anyone, will get results. The problem is not the principles, per se, but the motivating power and ethics behind the principles. Whom do they honor? Whom do they serve?

Human nature is easily fooled by a charismatic personality, the energy he exudes, the projection of a strong ministry gift, and crowd-stimulating and mind-controlling techniques. For example, often when people feel an excitement in a corporate assembly, they make the assumption that God is there, but that is not necessarily so. This happens many times, especially when the music or what we label “praise and worship” is emotionally stimulating. We believe and appreciate excitement that is born of the Spirit of God, but it can be difficult for a casual observer to discern the difference between what is of the flesh or the soul of man and what is truly of the Spirit of God.

Recently I came across a list of principles that shed much light on the very subtle differences between the world’s version of wisdom versus the kingdom of God’s version. In the words, I recognized these principles as the difference between man’s wisdom and God’s wisdom. Following is a contrast of those differences.

The wisdom of man provides an identity in yourself. The wisdom of God establishes our identity in Christ.

The wisdom of man provides a sense of uniqueness, specialness, and personal destiny. The wisdom of God admonishes us to lay down our lives and to shun personal advancement and self-aggrandizement.

The wisdom of man provides strong leadership and a charismatic leader figure to follow. The wisdom of God delivers us from false identities and an inordinate dependency on man.

The wisdom of man uses stimulating music and songs as a tool to rally people to a great cause or project. The wisdom of God uses music and songs to worship and glorify God, not human interest or selfish ambition.

The wisdom of man calls us to great, world-changing endeavors. The wisdom of God calls us to die daily; it’s irrelevant whether that involves greatness to change the world.

The wisdom of man motivates us to overcome obstacles, challenges, and adversity (even the world does this). The wisdom of God leads us to the One who is our all-sufficiency, admonishes us to rejoice in Him in our trials, and overcomes evil with good by loving our enemies.

The wisdom of man is capable of challenging us to personal discipline, hard work, and sacrifice. The wisdom of God instructs us to yield to our new spiritual nature and tells us that we can do nothing without Him.

The wisdom of man calls us to greatness. The wisdom of God defines greatness as being the servant of all. Jesus is worthy whether we are called to be great or small as the world defines it.

The wisdom of man conducts large-scale meetings to impart vision. The wisdom of God leads us to New Testament life and Scripture, which emphasizes being like Christ and being conformed to His image as the vision. (Do you realize there’s not one New Testament Scripture on vision? Knowing Jesus intimately and making Him known is the vision. I know this is a shocker to some people, but Jesus modeled leadership by laying down His life for others, not by presenting a vision. (Calvary is the vision). The vision is doing what God tells you to do.

The wisdom of man provides enticing speech and heightened oratory to inspire and stir people to a mission. The wisdom of God teaches lowliness and humility and a mutual laying down of our lives for each other as the ultimate virtue.

Do you know what releases maximum potential in the body of Christ, so that we are built up and equipped for service? It is lowering yourself and serving others as being more important than you. This is what brings complete restoration in the body of Christ.

The contrast that I show here between the wisdom of man and the wisdom of God is not intended to quench godly motivation and inspiration to a God-directed cause or a mission, but to show you the subtle differences between a man-centered and a God-centered methodology. The world uses some of these principles and techniques with great success and often for good causes, but we must understand that there is a subtle but large gap between what is good and what is God.
