“27 FREEDOMS” OUR SOLDIERS DID NOT DIE FOR

With apologies to every honorable military family who have served well and sacrificed so much, but may misunderstand and misinterpret this article. What I write, I write on behalf of those who knew the real America and the values, principles, honors, and liberties for which they served.

The fallen soldiers, who sacrificed their lives for our nation, did not do so for the filth, perversion, nonsensical idiocy, lawlessness, demonic hatred, sinister evil, and social madness we now witness on a daily basis. This is not the nation they died for.

1. They did not die for Sodomite marriage.
2. They did not die for transgenderism disguised as “civil rights”.
3. They did not die for the baby killing machine called Planned Parenthood.
4. They did not die so we could bow down to the federal government’s most wicked liberal agenda.
5. They did not die to put more limp-wristed secular humanists in the White House.
6. They did not die to put more terrorists in our land.
7. They did not die to remove symbols of the cross from our parks, buildings, memorials, and city squares.
8. They did not die for a nation where atheists and sodomites have more rights than Christians and Jews.
9. They did not die so that anti-Semitic ideological hatred could pervade our college and university campuses and classrooms.
10. They did not die so that terrorist nations like Iran could be given billions of dollars to manufacture weaponry that could one day destroy the very nation they died for.
11. They did not die so that our freedoms one by one would be taken away.
12. They did not die for the cowards in our federal government who refuse to defy Obama and his treason of our Sovereign nation.
13. They did not die so that you could spit on their memory through your cowardly inertia and yellow-bellied neutrality.
14. They did not die so that you could defile our educational system with your LGBT putrid propaganda and your diversity of perversity.
15. They did not die so you could mock God and Christianity at every level and remove the Bible, their only eternal hope, from even the soldier’s hands.
16. They did not die so you could shove your idols down our throats and forsake the sheep for all your goats.
17. They did not die so you take away our guns and make us slaves of your One World sons.
18. They did not die for a tyrannical dictatorship whose king alters and defies our constitution in order to promote his demonic revolution.
19. They did not die so you could strip our land of its life, peace, and prosperity.
20. They did not die for a lawless president who respects useful idiots but despises wise men.
21. They did not die so that Christians would be persecuted and prosecuted for standing and speaking their convictions.
22. They did not die so that the IRS, Homeland Security, and the Health and Family Services would become the American Gestapo.
23. They did not die so that Democratic socialism would continue to transition into full-blown communism.
24. They did not die so that the Muslim brotherhood would entrench itself deeper into Washington, D.C., and across the entire USA.
25. They did not die so that our southern border would be completely open and unrestrained.
26. They did not die so that our national debt would continue to skyrocket and the common working class man would become poorer.
27. They certainly did not die so that the honorable military, which they served in, would continue to be degraded, demoralized and incapacitated.

The memory and honor for the sacrifice of the fallen soldier would mean so much more if you weak and wimpy magistrates would stand up against the fleecing and raping of our own nation for which they died?

To hell with this cowardice! Death before dishonor. My allegiance is first and foremost to the only Sovereign God and King, the Lord Jesus Christ and to His Kingdom that has no end. And secondly, to the flag of the real United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

I end with a tribute to our nation’s real fallen soldiers and those still living who love all that America originally represented.

THE FALLEN SOLDIER’S BALLAD

If the fallen soldiers of ages past,
Could rise again and speak at last,
They would tell us this is not the nation they died for,
It’s not the Statue of Liberty, but a bride turned whore,
They would grieve for the land they once knew and loved,
And tell us to revolt for the sake of their lifeblood,
For our memory preserved you must take a stand, they’d say
Defy the betrayers and take back the land, we pray
Do not even think of approving what God has forbidden,
Expose their wickedness and all that’s hidden,
Restore the ancient land marks for which we died,
And honor will then be present at every soldier’s graveside.

BLIND SPOTS: RECOGNIZING THEM IS A KEY TO SPIRITUAL GROWTH (Part 1)

This is what has been on my heart lately. Through my 30+ years of ministry and teaching and mentoring students in the Word of God, and meeting and counseling with young ministers and missionaries, it has become apparent to me how common it is for people to have blind spots. As I reflect back on my own life I can see where I was blind to certain areas of my life that needed correction. Let me share some examples and show you how to avoid these blind spots, and how to help others.

One of the biggest blind spots I had over the years was that of being a professional minister. The Spirit of the Lord showed me how at different seasons of my life the spirit of religion spoiled the simplicity and innocence of my fellowship with Jesus. There were different times when activity and performance became the king of all my service. My love for people waned. Demonstrating love through practical service waned. I lost a certain purity of heart as my motives became stained with self-absorption and self-exaltation and a ‘me’ first, ‘build my ministry’ mentality.

Ministry was no longer about caring for people and meeting their needs, but it was about preaching and teaching…it was about sermons and outlines…it was about statistics, numbers, projects and programs (these things are certainly not wrong in themselves, but we need to watch our hearts to make sure Jesus remains our first love). Thank God for the Holy Ghost who showed me the error of my ways! He saved me from being disqualified (1 Cor. 9:27).

Why didn’t I see the error of my ways earlier? Number one, because I was too wrapped up in the work of the Lord and less on the Lord of the work. Number two, I was just following the example I was given in Bible school to build my ministry (oh how important the power of example is!). Back then there was not a great emphasis on the need for personal mentorship, discipleship, and fathering.

True mentors will help you deal with blind spots. I believe this one critical blind spot cost me years of a lost reward. Why do I say that? Because the foundation of the entire reward system of God is based on the motives of the heart. The earlier you learn this lesson the less blindness will have a chance to develop in you as you mature.

Let me tell you that this particular blind spot affected every other area of my life. It affected my marriage and how I related to my wife. It affected all my relationships – with my elders, peers, and students. It affected my conversation, my conduct, and all my demeanor. When you do things from a self-focus you stain and spoil your spiritual garments.

Often sons can’t see certain things about themselves that fathers see. A good father sees much more than a son sees. This is true naturally and spiritually. Again, some of it is simply due to spiritual growth, as naturally, fathers having more light and experience in life. But some of it is just blind spots that people have which result from an un-teachableness or an un-persuadableness stemming from pride.

For example, I was also harsh in my preaching for years and had been told about it, but I reasoned within myself and judged it as boldness without compromise. I congratulated myself for not being a man-pleaser. In one sense my heart was pure, but in another sense, I was blind.

Over the years as I’ve grown and dealt with all kinds of people this has become more apparent to me. You could say that my eyes have been more open to blind spots.

As another example, after a number of discussions, email communiques, and counseling sessions with one particular couple, they could not see what the elders (including myself) saw. Without mentioning the specifics of this one case, I will just say that it felt like we were trying to convince them gently and in love that they were not a racehorse, but a mule. How do you tell someone that they don’t qualify to be in a certain leadership position any longer? How do you break the news to their proud and blind hearts that they are not a level ten missionary but a level three at best? How do you do that without totally crushing their motivation to keep trying? It’s not that easy, but it is necessary for growth. It is not only a personal mentor’s praise and encouragement that helps you, but it is the course corrections that he brings to your life that will bring long-term success.

Blind spots. There are marriages in trouble today because of blind spots. One spouse is always taking more than they give. One spouse has been dictating to the other, controlling the other, taking from the other and often they don’t even realize how bad the situation is. Sometimes by the time they realize it, it’s too late. Fathers often are blinded to how hard-hearted and provoking to discouragement they’ve become with their children. At times parents have the opposite problem where they spoil their children by refusing to discipline them. I see this often. In either situation the children usually grow up warped in some facet of their character or personality. All of these situations occur because of blind spots.

A person could have something in their character or personality that if not dealt with could ruin them and hurt those he influences. This is the reason for the 1 Tim. 3 qualifications for bishops and deacons/leadership in the church. This is the reason for older men and older women teaching the younger. It’s because they can see more than you see. But if you’ll listen to them you will sit on their shoulders and see more when you become their age. As it has been said, “one man’s roof is another man’s ceiling.” And the anointing is to double with each generation.

I’ve also observed how environment and culture can attribute to creating blind spots in people’s lives. We often place what culture teaches us above biblical standards. In poor countries I’ve observed how easy it is to buy out young ministers. Quickly they become slaves to the will of man who has the means to buy their souls. Working with our national African missionaries for years I’ve seen how many hurts are caused because of misunderstandings with money. Blind spots. Following after the money creates blind spots. Money, by nature, is deceitful, and if you’re not careful, it will blind you.

Blind spots can be avoided through prayer, humility, accountability, and being teachable. Blind spots are also avoided when you maintain a close personal relationship with trusted peers and elders in your life and allow them to speak into you. Likewise, you can only help others avoid blind spots through their agreement and permission. Everyone has a free will. With enough love, care, and wisdom, though, you can help open up people’s hearts and wills to God. I cannot speak into anyone’s life unless they give me a voice into it. Your gentleness and meekness can aid in helping others see the error of their ways.

FOUR THINGS I CONSTANTLY WORK ON

“Meditate on these things; give yourself to them, that your progress may be evident to all” (1 Tim. 4:15).

My greatest motivation in life is to live in such a way as to stand before God one day and hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” This is truly what keeps my conscience clear and unfeigned. I fall short sometimes, but I have learned to forgive myself and just keep on going. If your heart is pure you can do the same.

As I’ve looked back and reflected often on my life in Christ I realize that four things have been constant.

1. I have asked God for a heart that is quick to repent and quick to forgive. I work on that. Always. Sometimes I’ll ask myself, “Is there any one person in my life that I could not face on the streets and give a hug or a warm handshake to? Is there anyone that I would avoid by crossing the street opposite of where he was walking so I wouldn’t have to meet/greet him? Is there anyone that I could not stand to walk into a room and greet and engage in conversation with? If there is, then I may have unforgiveness or resentment in my heart toward someone. Make it right because that thing will make you sick in body one day, and it will hinder your prayers.

2. Loving my wife. This is work. Every day. Because she is so different than I am. Her needs are varied and her temperament so often contrary to mine. But we’ve grown together and we understand each other so much better than when we first started. We know what each other will say and do beforehand in almost any situation. Love has done that. As a man, I believe I am to love my wife first before she responds with submission and honor. Many men give their wives very little love to submit to and honor. This takes work. This takes an intimate knowledge of Christ’s love.

3. Knowing God. This one should’ve probably been listed first as it is the root of all the rest. I have learned much about my Father and about my Lord. I have learned some of His ways. One thing that is constant is that He is love and He is full of mercy. He does not see things like we often do. I have to stay open, meek, and teachable to learn of Him. Remember that the Lord dwells with the lowly and humble and contrite heart. I use to be a hard preacher. I’m still strong and endeavor to preach the uncompromising word of God, but when I think of how patient, merciful, and kind He has been toward me I want to extend the same to others. I want to know God better. I want to know how He thinks and what makes Him tick. I want to know more of His tender heart for people and what pleases Him and what grieves Him. I want to learn to love like Him. I work on that continually, looking for Him in others, looking for Him in situations, listening to His heart and being taught from His Word and of His Spirit.

4. Staying full of the Spirit. This is a challenge in today’s busy and hectic world. Keeping a song in your heart really helps. Hum, whistle, and make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Pray and sing in other tongues much. This will launch you into a greater Spirit filled life and help keep your spirit light as a feather. Life’s burdens and stress don’t stick to a full man. There is a leisure in God that ministers great rest to your spirit. My little book on Prayer (Prayer: The Language Of The Spirit) , which is a favorite of many people, will encourage you in this regard.

I hope these things are a blessing to you.

WHO WILL ESCAPE THIS GROSS DARKNESS AND HORRIBLE VACUUM OF EVIL?

The following is an end time vision given to an established, seasoned minister of the gospel and told in his own words. My heart was quickened when I read it and I thought: “This vision needs to be circulated to the body of Christ worldwide for we are seeing the increasing effects of it being unfolded in this hour, although it was given more than 25 years ago.”

If you are skeptical of these things I would encourage you to listen to your heart as you read it and allow the Holy Spirit to bear witness with you.

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things…but the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him” (1 John 2:20, 27).

Here then is the vision told in the minister’s own words:

“In 1987, I was a speaker at a campmeeting in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I spoke during the Thursday evening service. Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin spoke during the Friday evening service. I remember that I had just flown in from meetings in Paris, France. I mentioned to my wife how much I would like to stay and hear Dr. Hagin speak. She agreed.

As Dr. Hagin entered the pulpit, he began to pray in tongues. When he started, I started. A moment later, I was caught up in a vision (I was told later that it was probably more like a trance). As I went into this vision, I remember how Dr. Hagin’s voice was getting quieter and quieter, until I could hear him no more. It was so quiet all around me I felt like I could hear my own heartbeat.

All of a sudden I felt evil, as if it were surrounding me. Anger rose up in me, and fear tried to get a grip on me. Suddenly, something caught my attention out of my left eye. I turned hard to the left to see what it was. I saw the circumference of the earth, from one edge to the other, and this horrible black, dark cloud was rising up over the horizon. Somehow I knew it would eventually fill the entire earth.

An alarm went off in me, screaming to me to run away from it as fast as I could. I felt like I should scream at it, to stop it in its tracks by using the name of Jesus.

I began to rebuke it and started to say, “In the name of Jesus. . .” I didn’t quite get it out, and the Lord said, “That will do you no good.”

“What?” I said.

The Lord said, “Son, you cannot use My name to stop what I prophesied. I am not causing this dark cloud, but I did prophesy it would happen in the last days.”

I remember in the vision that I asked the Lord “What is this? What is this evil, tempestuous dark cloud?”

The Lord said, “This is what I showed My prophet, Isaiah (Isa. 61:1-2). This is every evil thing you can name. It is every demon, it is every disease, and it is sickness and bacterial attacks that haven’t even been discovered yet. It will cause humans to do things to humans that aren’t even human. It is filled with insanity, and many people will lose their mind and their faculties. It is murder, terror, rape, abuse, terrorism, torture, and much worse. It is filled with deceptions, heresies, perversions, and filth.”

Some things the Lord showed me I have not had permission to speak.

I also saw people – many, many people. Some were running into the dark cloud, and some were being sucked into it. It reminded me of this very powerful Shop-vac I have. It will not only suck up the dirt but also my tools, if I don’t pay attention.

I saw many people screaming with terror and actually being dragged into this cloud. Though they were refusing it and resisting it with all their strength, they still did not possess the power to stop it.

I was so disturbed when I saw a cross on someone’s pocket or jewelry. I remember saying to the Lord, “Who are those people being drawn into this filth and terror, wearing the Christian symbol of the cross? Who are these people, not even resisting? And who are these people, resisting with all their might but it does them no good? They just keep disappearing into this horrible, evil cloud of gross darkness.”

The Lord answered me and said, “Oh, these are those who do not have clean hands and a pure heart. They have been warned but ignored the warnings. Some even wanted this filth as their lifestyle.”

I asked, “Well, who are these wearing the cross?”

“Oh,” the Lord said, “These are the people who claim Me as Savior. Many of them have desired this filth and even fought for it. They make excuses but are not excused. The ones who are resisting thought My prophets were exaggerating and from the old school, and they denied the warnings. Now that this evil has come, they possess little to no power, and certainly not enough to resist and overcome this horrible onslaught of enemy power. Only those with clean hands and a pure heart will be able to totally resist this. It will cover the earth.”

There was much more to this, but I began to come out of the vision and once again heard Brother Hagin speaking in tongues from the pulpit.

I asked my wife what had happened, and she said, “Nothing, he hasn’t done anything but pray in the spirit.”

I began to realize that nobody seemed to see this vision or get caught up into this trance but me. I held my wife’s hand a little tighter and began to pray fervently in the spirit. As I did, I got caught up in the spirit again.

Just like before, Brother Hagin’s voice got quieter and quieter until it was gone. I found myself alone again. It was so quiet I could hear my own heartbeat. Suddenly, a piercing light hit the corner of my right eye. It was so bright that I instantly shrouded my head with my hands and arms. It reminded me of the intense light that my optometrist uses to examine the back of my eyes. Actually, it was much brighter than that.

Everything within me said, “Turn, and look into it. Turn now, and run into it.” Yet there was this hesitation because it was so bright it seemed to shine through me. Finally I gave in to it and looked directly at it. With both eyes I saw the depth of this bright cloud. Just like the dark cloud I had seen before, it was coming up over the horizon of the earth. I could tell that it was going to cover the planet. I just knew that I knew that nothing could stop it.

I remembered asking the Lord, “What is this? What is this massive, earth-consuming bright cloud?”

The Lord answered me and said, “Oh, this is My glory. This is the glory cloud that I showed My prophet Isaiah (Isa. 61:1-2). This is what I promised, that My glory will fill the whole earth.”

“Well,” I asked, “what is inside the cloud?”

“It is filled with the greatest miracles humans have ever seen. It is filled with healing for every disease, and a cure for every sickness. It is power to overcome sin and filth – to receive the truth and reject error, heresy, and doctrines of demons. It is a full manifestation of My Spirit. It is the full anointing of Jesus Christ and more, much more.”

He showed me other things that I have no permission to speak at this time.

I saw people in this vision, just like before with the cloud of darkness. Many, many people were running into it and almost frolicking in it. It was like my first response – too bright to behold, and then I wanted to run into it. There were those who seemed to want to pull away from this glory cloud.

“Lord, who will enter into this great glory of God and enjoy this awesome power?” I asked.

“Those who have a pure heart and clean hands,” the Lord answered. “They are the ones who will escape the horrible vacuum of the evil, dark cloud and be consumed with my glory. I will require you to tell these things to My people at an appointed time.”
Now is that time! As I travel the world over, I see both of these manifestations happening. In fact, I see them beginning to intensify. Sometimes I say that both God and Satan are having a revival among men. We will now see more and more people running to each cloud, causing a great gulf or divide. Could this be the separation of sheep and goats, or the separation of wheat and tares?

I am not a conspiracy-theory person. I am not a fear-based preacher. I am not a prophet of doom. So what I am about to say is none of these. But, I am actually witnessing the spirits of the antichrist, prepping the people of the earth (including many church goers) for the arrival of the antichrist himself. I see demons (spirits of the antichrist) going throughout all the earth. They are slowly re-programming the minds of men (doctrines of demons) to systematically disassemble the work of Christ and disengage the army of God.

You can avoid this, if you choose. If you choose not to, you will suffer the consequences. Please don’t do that!” Dr. Mark Barclay

HOW TO COOPERATE WITH THE ANOINTING

Years ago I was visiting the church my parents belonged to. I wasn’t there to minister but just attending. Suddenly during the praise and worship portion of the service, the Spirit of God came on me to dance.

It is not really my nature to dance in a community service where I am not known, but it seemed like the more I tried to suppress the urge to dance, the stronger it got. I knew then that the Lord wanted to use me to release liberty and joy into that service through the dance.

As soon as I stepped out in the aisle and began dancing someone tapped me on the shoulder and told me that he couldn’t see the words to the song on the screen. Apparently, I was obstructing his view. When he tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to move, the anointing to dance just flew away like a bird.

The Holy Spirit is easily grieved when people are not sensitive to His anointing. Someone might say, “well, you were blocking the view of that person.” When it comes to the anointing of the Holy Spirit that is not even a consideration. The consideration should be for who is going to be helped and blessed by the anointing. I’ve seen great things happen when liberty and joy are released through praise and the dance. Personally, I won’t even disturb someone who is lifting his hands to the Lord in worship. When people are being ministered to you should be sensitive not to break the flow of intimacy they may be experiencing with the Lord. We are far too casual when it comes to these things.

I remember years ago hearing the crusade director of the late Kenneth E. Hagin share a story of how the ushers were disorganized one evening in a large meeting and failed to properly direct the sick and diseased into a long healing line. People were running into each other and there was disorder and confusion. The healing anointing was very strong upon Brother Hagin that particular night, but because of the disorder and confusion, the Holy Spirit was grieved and the anointing lifted. Brother Hagin then just turned around and walked off the stage and told his crusade director to minister to the sick by faith. In other words, now that the healing anointing was gone, his director could minister just as effectively as Hagin could. We can all minister to people by faith, but when someone is anointed, you have to yield to that person and what the Lord may want to do through him or her.

Most Christians have no idea how often they grieve the Holy Spirit. Now of course, there is a big difference between the anointing to dance and the tangible anointing to heal the sick, but it is the same Holy Spirit that anoints. The anointing is precious. It must be handled with high esteem and reverence.

I’m not sure that many believers even know what the anointing is. I think most confuse it with good feelings, emotional satisfaction, or intellectual stimulation. For example, many hear a Christian song they like and they think they “feel” the anointing on it because it makes them feel so good. Others confuse the anointing of the Holy Spirit with the charisma of a large personality, or the energy in a room, or how a particular minister projects himself. If you’ll watch some of the old timers (you can find some on YouTube) and observe the anointing on their ministries and meetings and compare them to today, you will begin to see a difference and gain a deeper knowledge of the real anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Of course, I am not saying that ministries and meetings are not anointed today, but there was a depth of it back then that has been substituted with lightness and superficiality in our modern day. A casual observer will find it difficult to tell the difference. This website (http://www.brothermel.org/) and my new book, Passing On The Move Of God To The Next Generation, may be helpful in this regard.

Here are some ways to help cooperate with the anointing:

1. Follow the witness of your spirit. Sometimes you will not understand with your head what is happening in the Spirit, but learn to listen to your heart. Certain demonstrations may be unfamiliar to you, but could in fact be the Holy Ghost. Do you have a witness in your spirit? Is there peace? is there power? Or is it like washing your feet with your socks on?

In the anointing there is a groove and a fluidity that flows like water, but when it is the flesh or just emotions it is grinding and grievous to your spirit.

2. Look for the fruit of the anointing. When the anointing is moving it produces fruit. People are filled, set free, healed, and delivered. One or more of these elements will be present: There will be joy and liberty. There will be the sweetness of the Lord. There will be power. There will be conviction and the fear of the Lord.

3. Learn by experience, both your own, and the track record of those ministering in the anointing. Learn to connect what you sense in your spirit with what you’ve sensed in times past. Do you remember how you felt when it was wrong or weird? And then how did you feel when it was right and real? During your own personal prayer times is when you will learn the most about the anointing and presence of the Lord. The anointing teaches us (1 Jn. 2:20, 27), but experience and use will train our senses to discern (Heb. 5:14).

May we all learn to cooperate with the precious anointing of the Holy Spirit so that all may profit and be helped, edified, and blessed by it.

MINISTRY KEYS FOR EXCELLENCE IN THE SPIRIT (Part 2)

“Let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel” (1 Cor. 14:12b).

In I Corinthians 14 Paul is bringing correction, decency, and order to the church gatherings. The people were zealous for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but they were not excelling. Many today are zealous for the ministry and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but they are not excelling in the way God wants them to. God is not the author of confusion but of peace.

Here are some keys to excelling in your ministry and times of assembling, especially in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

1. Cultivate an atmosphere of great praise and joy.

There are pockets of demons that congregrate in certain areas of the country. Evil spirits promote different elements of darkness such as poverty, perversion, sexual promiscuity, oppression, witchcraft, murder, etc. If we’re not careful these spirits will infiltrate the local church. In addition to exercising our faith and authority in the Word, high praise and joy in the Holy Ghost greatly aid in keeping these spirits out of the church and an area.

High praise and the joy of the Lord break strongholds and help open up new realms in the Spirit. High praise and worship yields a greater place for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to manifest, and the opposite is also true. The manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit also produce high praise and worship.

For example, one pastor ministered in healing for 3 straight weeks in their local meetings, and great praise erupted. Recently the Lord gave us several words of knowledge and people were healed right at the beginning of a meeting. It caused jubilant praise to break out among the people, and it increased everyone’s faith and expectation.

Many churches have gotten into a rut with programmed praise. Most full gospel churches no longer sing in the Spirit. Inspired psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs are a lost art, too.

Formality kills the liberty of the Spirit, and predictability kills faith. Things of the Spirit such as praise and worship can become things in the Spirit if you’ll move in faith and inspired spontaneity.

2. Put an emphasis on brevity and simplicity.

Scholars have said that the New Testament was written in street Greek, and not flowery speech, especially the gospels. Jesus was simple. Resurrection is one of the few long words in His dialect that He used. Most of the words that Jesus used were shorter, simpler words like bread, water, life light etc.

Most preachers use eloquent speech and fancy sounding words, and frankly we are too long-winded (I’m guilty myself). Most services are cluttered with the unnecessary. It’s one thing when the Spirit of God falls, because then time takes on a different meaning, but to be lengthy on purpose, will backfire and decrease the anointing. Things will weigh heavy on people’s ears and create a dullness and passivity in them.

When you keep things simple and crisp the anointing will increase, and it will stay and stick to the people. It will keep them fresh and wanting more instead of wishing the meeting was over and the preacher would shut up. Again, all this changes when there is an outpouring of the Spirit.

And another thing, you don’t need to sing seven songs and have built up emotion to have the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Keep things simple when it comes to the gifts, too.

3. Always give place and space to the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Praise and worship the Lord. Preach and teach the Word. Pray. Receive the offering. But always keep the Spirit in it and yield to Him. He may want to do something, reveal something, or say something at any point in the service.

One pastor friend of mine received a word of knowledge for healing during a baby dedication. He saw in a vision someone’s left eye that was almost blind being healed. He spoke it out and a lady was totally healed and began to weep. During a baby dedication! Give place to the Holy Spirit.

We must have variety in our services and in the gifts and operations of the Spirit. Please get my new book where we emphasize these things (Passing On The Move Of God To The Next Generation). I wrote it especially to help ministers.

4. Give tongues and interpretation a prominent place in the service.

Tongues and interpretation should be in more frequent manifestation than any of the other gifts. Why? Because those are the two gifts Jesus left for the New Testament Church. All the other seven gifts operated in the Old Testament except these two. Tongues with interpretation have been called the signature gifts and crown jewels of the glorious Church and are distinct to this dispensation of grace. Once again, we also deal with this truth in our new book.

5. Don’t put pressure on yourself to perform.

Operating out of a performance mode opens things up to sensuality and even familiar spirits. Don’t fall into the trap of hyping people up. Let the Spirit and the power of God hype them up. Be patient and wait on the Lord for the release of His quickening and anointing.

6. Focus on the spiritual growth of the people and not numerical growth.

God will not favor you more just because you pastor a big church or conduct big meetings. And do not think less of yourself if you have a numerically smaller church or conduct smaller meetings. As traveling ministers we have ministered to big crowds and smaller groups in homes. Our preparation and motivation remains the same in both scenarios.

Excellence is not when the building or the house is full of people, but when the people are full of God. Be faithful to the people God gives you. Your reward will be determined by your obedience and not size.

Pastors and ministers, these last two blogs can save you a thousand troubles if you will heed these simple keys to spiritual excellence. You will become a golden and honorable vessel.

May His grace be multiplied in your life as you flow with the Lord’s counsel.

MINISTRY KEYS FOR EXCELLENCE IN THE SPIRIT (Part 1)

“Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you” (1 Tim. 4:16).

“In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (2 Tim. 2:20-21).

Here are some great keys to moving into an excellence in spiritual things. These keys will sharpen you and greatly aid you in flowing and excelling in your personal priesthood and in the operations of the Spirit in these last days. You will avoid the pitfalls that so many ministers fall into. There are far too many casualties in ministry because of a lack of diligence in these matters.

Here we go:

1. Pray twice

Pray as a minister for the people and for situations and the vision of what you are doing. But pray also as a child of God, not asking the Father for anything but just loving Him and ministering to Him. Ministry to the Lord will bring you into new places in the Spirit.

2. Give place to fasting

The power of fasting with prayer cannot be overemphasized. Instances in the Bible where it was done produced miraculous results. Keep your motives pure in the fasting, and you will accelerate like never before in your life and calling. As an added benefit, addictions and strongholds will be broken off you, your emotions will come under the Spirit’s control, and your health will spring forth speedily. Read Is. 58 and familiarize yourself with the many benefits of fasting done right with prayer.

3. Be very quick to forgive and repent.

It is difficult to grieve the Holy Spirit for very long when you are in a sensitive place with the Lord. Check your spirit at all times to make sure you are in a clean and clear place before ministering to others. Don’t let unforgiveness take root and defile you. And never let the sun go down on your wrath. This is especially true with husband and wife.

Walk in love toward everyone, be tender-hearted, and always show mercy.

4. Never exaggerate or diminish the truth.

When you don’t tell the truth you offend the “spirit of truth” who is the Holy Spirit. Don’t stretch the truth and say that 100s of people were saved in your meetings when it was only 50. Don’t say that 5 crippled people and 5 blind people were healed when all you did was pray for them without verifying their healing. Don’t tell people that there are 1000 people in your church because that is how many attended on Easter Sunday, when your regular attendance is closer to 400.

5. Stay with the good Word of God.

Avoid getting off into doctrinal tangents, ministry fads, and sensationalism. Don’t build your ministry on the gifts of the Spirit, as important as they are. Keep the Word first place.

6. Don’t let money matters get a grip on you to the degree where you are depending upon some avenue or channel, or source and means of getting money.

If you’re called and chosen by God for ministry, rely and depend solely on the Lord without looking to a man on earth. Don’t try to make a friend of someone with substantial income to get provision. Make a friend of Jesus Christ.

No one but Jesus has chosen you and separated you to the ministry, and no one owes you a penny. No human is responsible for you. You are God’s liability totally and completely. If you have this kind of heart of dependency on the Lord you will succeed and all the powers of hell can’t shake you or stop you.

7. Stay free of pride and a desire for popularity.

Crucify your desire for popularity among men in the limelight of public ministry. Instead, seek to excel in your private ministry to the Lord in prayer. Keep your motives very pure in this matter for it is a killer of many ministries. You will be a beautiful vessel for the Lord’s purposes if you will keep your heart with all diligence in this most crucial matter.

8. Stay pure in sexual matters.

Sex is one of the greatest driving forces of mankind. Sex is good and wholesome in its rightful place , but if you abuse it, it will destroy you.

David and Samson are still laughed at and mocked 3,000 years later because of failure in this area. There is forgiveness and restoration to those who repent, but the earth will scorn you if you keep marrying and re-marrying, and falling into sexual sin.

Don’t play around sexually with women as you would a toy. Pornography is mental candy for many men, and even more women are falling trap to it.  Spit that candy out and learn to hate it. God’s grace is sufficient to deliver you and keep you free.

Almost everyone who gets in trouble with sex doesn’t intend to. They get deceived into it.

Pin these 8 points to your wall, or better yet, to your spirit. Keep them as frontlets before your eyes and you will stay the course.

We will cover a few more next time. Stay tuned…

THE JOY OF MINISTRY AND LOVING AND HELPING PEOPLE

“Serve the Lord with gladness…”(Ps. 100:2)

There she lay on the floor – a 70-something year old woman who had two back surgeries and been in pain every single day for the last six years.

Now she was in tears because after the transmission of God’s power into her body she found instant relief and healing. The ushers tried to pick her up, but she was too drunk to stand. Not only did God heal her, but He was drenching her with His love and presence.

Finally, after more time had passed, the ushers managed to lay her down on the first row of chairs on her side. Healing confirmed. She told me she had not been able to lay on her side for all those six years. Now she could and was taking full advantage of it. Praise Jesus!

Then there was the younger woman with the intense migraine. The Lord told us it was related to a more serious problem. As soon as hands were laid on her she had no more pain and she laughed almost uncontrollably while simultaneously being filled with the Spirit for the first time and speaking in other tongues. She, too got drenched with God’s love and presence.

Finally, there was the lady who received a bad report from her doctor of the beginnings of cancer in her body. As soon as I said, “Now you’re going to receive a good report,” the power of God moved on her. She crumpled to the floor, not backwards, but frontwards or sideways, nearly knocking me over. Once again, this lady was drenched with God’s love and presence, and was drunk in the Spirit for the rest of the service. Praise the Name of Jesus!

That is how we began our Campmeeting in Tennessee this past week. Glory to God!

Here is the video clip. Check from the 33 minute mark forward and you will witness the ministry to at least two of these precious people. Excuse the poor quality of audio. If you can overcome that, you will learn some tremendous lessons on the workings of faith and the power of God that I share on the video.

Tennessee Campmeeting

This brings me to what I’d like to share. There is a new found revelation of the Father’s heart and of the ministry of Jesus moving in my life. I’ve always known of His eagerness and compassion to heal the sick and deliver the oppressed, but it has grown exponentially the last few years. The only element that seems to block His healing and delivering power from flowing into needy people is often their unforgiveness, especially in believers.

Here is a great secret I am learning. When you get into the flow of God’s love and compassion you will minister His Spirit and power to a higher degree.

Here is a second secret: When you get into the flow of God’s love and compassion you will also move in a higher measure of His wisdom. God’s greater wisdom travels on the highway of His love and compassion. Why would God share His wisdom with the selfish or self-centered? It is difficult to receive God’s wisdom when you are seeing people through your self-centered and biased lenses.

This is the reason trials are necessary. Trials produce patience. Patience produces character. When it does, wisdom will be your portion (Jam. 1:2-6).

Get on God’s wavelength of love. Walk in love. Cultivate God’s love in your life. Live in love. See others through His eyes. When you do, His power and wisdom will flow out from you in greater demonstration, but His love will also come right back on you. You will feel the joy and pleasure of the Father’s heart.

I’m sure you have also found this to be true. The greatest times of joy and peace in my life have truly come when I moving in God’s love and being a blessing to someone. Whether it’s a stranger on the street, the banker, or the supermarket attendant, or whether it’s the neighbor who needs a favor; or closer to home – my wife who needs my understanding and selfless sacrifice, my aged parents who need my gentle nurturing love in the sunset of their lives, or some brother or friend who needs me to be inconvenienced for his sake and encouragement.

Truly it is more blessed to give than to receive. May you experience the joy of true ministry and loving people as Jesus loved them.

But love also has another side that most of American Christianity no longer understands. Stay tuned…Sign up for our blog so you don’t miss these posts.

FASTING: THE SCOURGING POST (Part 3)

This is an excerpt taken from Gary Carpenter Ministries. It is prophetic and parallels fasting to the scourging post where Jesus was lashed. This is an outstanding masterpiece of the wisdom of God regarding fasting and its power. It is a bit lengthy but well worth your time if you are serious about fasting. Let him that can receive it, receive it. It will radically transform your life.

Today you are to receive the second instruction from the mind of Christ which will release the power of the Spirit to manifest the will of the Father in your life. You have already rejected this instruction twice, and even a third time this day as I have attempted to paint the vision of the Scourging Post in your spirit.

Say not with your mouth that you know not what it is … for you do know what it is. It is the Scourging Post where Christ was lashed – where the whip was laid across His back, and where the blood flowed as He was scourged and His flesh was laid bare.

Now, now, see the Scourging Post again as I paint it once more in your spirit. Reject it not, says the Spirit of the Lord. You see how it is only belt high and that a man must kneel to be attached to it. You see the shackles of chains that are attached and hang from the post. Yet notice that the shackles are unlocked and are empty. In the natural realm men are shackled against their will to the Scourging Post to have the law of man imposed upon them. It is not so in the Kingdom of God nor in the realm of the Spirit.

I, nor the Lord Jesus Christ, nor your Father will force you against your will to shackle yourself to this post. In the Kingdom of God, for those who would walk on the high path of the call of God in Christ Jesus, each man must choose to embrace the Post of Scourging … of his own free will! Jesus could have called for twelve legions of angels to free Him from the Scourging Post, but He chose to remain there.

It is time for you to embrace the Scourging Post where the things of the flesh which have hindered your walk greatly shall be removed forever. And I say again … forever, by the lash of the Spirit. You are not forced to embrace this Scourging Post except if your hunger and your desire for the perfect will of God is sufficient to cause you to bow the knee and to embrace the post. The Spirit does not force you. The Son does not force you. The Father does not force you. Your own desire and hunger shall force you IF you desire the high path to which the Father has called you.

If you run from the Scourging Post this day, know that I shall go with you and I will continue to work with you in the acceptable will of God which you will have chosen. But know this: Your hunger will increase and the day will come when you will once again face the Scourging Post. If you run again on that day, then know that I shall go with you and I will continue to work with you in the acceptable will of God which you choose each time that you run from the Scourging Post.

But understand again that the hunger will build within you. Be it today, be it next month, be it next year, understand the day will come when your own hunger for the high call of God in Christ Jesus will force you to embrace the Scourging Post. You may choose to do so this day, for your hunger is great, says the Lord. Christ is wanting you to know that He forces no man to the Scourging Post, but His love draws all men there who choose the Lamb as their First Love.

You have asked for the Lamb’s perfect will for your life. The perfect will of God is represented by the words of Christ when He said, “Take up your cross and follow Me.” You have asked to know what your cross is that you may bear it. Understand that on the path to that cross you first come to the Scourging Post. The Scourging Post is where all those things of the flesh must die before you shall be able to take up your cross. The Scourging Post is where man’s aspirations die. The Scourging Post is where weakness of the flesh is purged. The Scourging Post is where your will dies completely and His will becomes yours. The Scourging Post is where what is known as “man” must bow the knee so those things of the flesh may be exposed by the lash of the Spirit to be purged by the blood of the Lamb.

There is no avoiding the Scourging Post for those who would truly take up the cross assigned to them by the Lamb. I bring you the mind of Christ. The Son, this day, is asking you, not commanding you, “Will you of your own free choice embrace the Scourging Post?”

The Son asks you to look once more at the Scourging Post within your spirit. Do you see the stain of blood that remains on the post from when He knelt there? Know and understand that as your flesh embraces the Scourging Post, the power in His blood is there already to cleanse you and purge you from all that is not the will of the Father. His blood has preceded you. His blood is waiting for you. The power in His blood shall transform you.

Again I remind you, when you emerge from the Lamb’s room of fellowship you shall be a changed man. You shall be a new man.

“How do I embrace the Scourging Post? How do I do it Lord?” is the question that I hear from your spirit, says the Spirit of Grace. You have asked the right question.

I now bring you the second instruction from the mind of Christ. Beginning this day, you are to incorporate longer and longer periods of fasting into your life. That time has come.

No veil of anonymity can be permitted on the path of the high call of God in Christ Jesus for your life. To walk in the Father’s perfect will for you, My son, total exposure to the people shall be required. What they see in ministry must be what you are at home.

At that level of power, no hypocrisy is permissible. The same power that will heal them will destroy you. Has not history proven this fact through the many servants who attained to the walk of power yet cloaked their flesh behind a veil of hypocrisy? The enemy cannot be restrained when such is the case and his arsenal of destruction is fully launched against all unpurged flesh. It must needs be that you come first to the Scourging Post before you arrive at your cross.

I am speaking of His high call for you to walk in Manifested Glory as the Lamb Himself has previously spoken unto you. To walk in that realm requires the transformation to Love. I am not speaking of walking in the manifestation of the Gifts of the Spirit, for both you and Sue are now able to walk at that level.

Your mind cannot yet understand this, but it can receive this as being truth; As long as the Gifts are being operated “as the Spirit wills,” a buffer is created around you because of lack of responsibility on your part. My children are protected when they operate in the Gifts as the Spirit wills for there is a buffer of safety placed around them due to their lack of responsibility for initiation of these actions. You will understand this more as you mature.

Obedience without question to My voice in this day when it comes to the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit does not expose you to an increased level of warfare from the enemy. I permit no such launch of his arsenal against you, for you are walking as a child, merely following instruction, not as a mature son who initiates warfare at the direction of Christ. For the son of full stature, safety is only afforded when “Satan has nothing in you.”

The Scourging Post is on the path for you if you desire to ever walk in His Manifested Glory. Manifested Glory is the cross which the Father has assigned to you. Embrace the Scourging Post. The sooner you embrace the Scourging Post, the sooner the power of the Spirit is released to transform you more into the image of Him Who begat you.

I hear you asking Me “How? How should I incorporate fasting into my life in a manner that shall be safe to my physical man?” The Spirit of the Lord says unto you, as a general pattern, one day on … one day off. Two days on … two days off. Three days on … three days off and so forth until you acquire deeper and deeper levels of purging of the desires of the flesh. This is not a law unto you, but is given as a general pattern. Make allowances for holidays, for meetings and for special activities for it is not the Father’s desire to remove you from all fellowship with man.

Follow this as a general pattern for establishing deeper and deeper levels of the scourging of the flesh to bring mortification that can receive the mind of Christ. Remember His blood is at this post. Call on the power of it to sustain you and it surely will, says the Lord of Hosts.

As your Counselor I advise you to make a Fasting Schedule one month, and sometimes even two months in advance that you fail not to make direct progress on this instruction from the mind of Christ. Each time you come off of the fast, be sure to incorporate those things which I have instructed you that will reset your metabolism rate. You will avoid the consequences that befall most. Your health shall improve speedily as you do these things, says the Lord.

I hear you saying, “This does not sound like an easy yoke, nor a light burden.” That is only because you have not yet known the degree of hindrance that your flesh has imposed on the life of Christ within you. This instruction from the mind of Christ shall remove hindrances that will allow His life in you to grow exceedingly where more of the burdens of your life can be born by the Spirit rather than upon your own shoulders, says the Spirit of Grace.

It is hard to choose new wine and forsake the old when all you have tasted is the old. At this point you must trust Me that the new wine is better, for it truly is. You will look back and say, “Truly that was an easy yoke and that was a light burden, for it allowed the Spirit of the Living God to lift the weight of decades from off my shoulders. My health did spring forth speedily. My light did break forth as the morning. Righteousness went before me and led me in the way of the Lord. Truly this was an easy yoke and a light burden from the Lord.”

2 Cor 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
